I think you can get a set of these or individual ones - they are little contraptions that you pull a ziptie and they spin - it's really cooler than I'm making it sound. Always good for early physics lessons and hours of fun. ;)

I used to babysit an 8 year old boy. He was obsessed with these! They are little transformer type things that start in a ball shape, and when you throw them, they turn into little action figure interesting robot-type things. They also trade them a lot at school, so if you get some he already has, he could trade them for others.

Hey Shana! I know there is a place called The Box - I've never been there but I think it's a pretty big burlesque venue. I think the Bowery Poetry club has some burlesque events as well. Also, House of Yes in Brooklyn looks amazing. You might also really like this show called Sleep No More. It's not really burlesque, but it uses vintage 20s/30s style sets and costumes, and it's this amazing experiential piece where you basically choose your own adventure and follow the artists around (they are sort of enacting the story of Hamlet improvisationally). It's more modern dance based, but I think they speak as well. I know some amazing artists in the show, and haven't seen it yet, but have been in the space - it's a really cool, multi-floor performance space that you can explore, and it would be a really great Halloween date! If you're into burlesque and alternative kinds of performance, and a dark, sexy yet compelling show, you might really like this. :)

I found Dr. Antell through Villij (actually with an ankle issue, too!). He is literally the best doctor I've ever had, and his staff are all amazing, too. He is totally thorough and really takes his time with you, makes it easy for his patients to communicate with him and responds to all correspondence really quickly, and he really makes you feel like he cares about how you're doing! He advocates for you and has connections with some of the best PT facilities in the city. I am pretty sure his office is friendly to non-insured - I think they have some sort of sliding scale situation...
